Tanya, Karen, Karina, Moe we rocked the art show (hahah that rhymed!). I can't believe we got perfect on our project! And she rarely gives anyone perfect! :) I think our display was lovely.. haha I'm glad all the random stuff I brought to class was of use. Yay we're gonna appear in the AY newsletter! I'm glad we didn't take the dance room in the end. It was incredible fun.. a great way to end the Arts York year. :) More tomorrow...

It was easy to presume that people needed our help. For us, Africa was more than a place on the map, it was a location in our collective psyche. Our idea of Africa had been shaped by years of advertisements and news coverage that portrayed the continent as poor and helpless. Growing up in an affluent Western society we were invested with a stake in the image of helpless Africa, starving Africa. In public affairs discussions the term "starving Africans" (or "starving Ethiopians" or "starving Somalians") rolls off our tongue as easily as "blue sky". "Americans leave enough food on their plates to feed a million starving African.s" charities raise money for starving Africans. What do Africans do? They starve. But mostly they starve in our imaginations. The starving African is a Western cultural archetype like the greedy Jew or the unctuous Arab.... The starving African exists as a point in space from which we measure our own wealth, success, and prosperity, a darkness against which we can view our own cultural triumphs. And he serves as a handy object of our charity. He is evidence that we have been blessed, and we have an obligation to spread that blessing... Sometimes it appears that the only time Africans are portrayed with dignity is when they're helpess and brave at the same time. A person about to starve to death develops a stoic strength. Journalists write about the quiet dignity of the hopelessly dying. If Africans were merely hungry and poor, begging or conning coins on the streets of Nairobi or Addis Ababa, we might become annoyed and brush them aside- and most aid workers ahve done that at one time. When they steal tape decks from our Land Cruisers we feel anger and disgust. It is only in their weakness, when their death is inevitable, that we are touched. And it is in their helplessness that they become a marketable commodity.

Too bad I didn't write this. While doing my isp on corruption with non governmental organizations such as Save the Children, World Vision and other humanitarian agencies, I read this superb book called 'The road to hell: the ravaging effects of international charity'. This is an excerpt from his book and it completely rings so true. We are the second generation of crusaders who believe that it is our higher calling to save people from their misery. Blonde, blue-eyed angels holding feeble African black babies. Our mothers told us "Finish your food. Think about how many people in Africa who don't have much to eat." So we've grown up with this paradigm... finding satisfaction within the poor black child and compare it with our luxurious lives.

Treason:
Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
A betrayal of trust or confidence.

If love was red then she was colour-blind. All her friends they've been tried for treason. And crimes that were never defined.

I've suddenly realized how much I mean to my friends. I've realized that when I sit there, they move away to another table. I don't understand. I've lost complete faith in friendships. If they don't last because of distance, it's because they move on to other friends.
I've realized since I was little, I've had friendship problems.. ever since grade 3, I came back depressed and when my mom asked what was wrong I told her "Sarah doesn't want to be my friend anymore". My mom thought "Oh no, she gets depressed over friendships when she's only in grade 3. I cant imagine what it would be like a few years later". Who can? ever since grade 5 when she swore at me and a huge fiasco occurred and we never spoke to each other ever again. I remember another who spread rumours about me and many people avoided me.. until I obtained a best friend and suddenly that girl was nice to me. But when I moved back, she told me how all my friends in HK hated me and how my canadian friends were pretending to befriend me (although she never knew them). And now I've tried to make at least one gathering work and it's falling to pieces. I know the invitations were late because I had a lot of work and didn't have time to plan... I don't know anymore. Maybe that's why I like to move around from city to city.. country to country. Friendships seem like they 'peak' in two years, then they gradually become cold and distant. I don't know. Those who have comforted me in the past.. Tania and my AY friends. They are so incredibly supportive especially Dor and Tanya. And Dor told me something when I was weeping over my crummy test. She told me that she and Tanya were talking and wondered why I wasn't going into fashion since I get so excited about it whereas interior is just like meh... I don't know. Perhaps I'm just in denial that I want to go into that industry. I don't know.
But that's not the point. I don't know what to do anymore. How do you make them work. How did my mom make hers work.... I did all that I could... I bought materials over $100, printed out examples and mounted them on black cardstock I stole from the art room, made cookies and made invitations with goody bags. What more do you want? Guys? (no) Do something more 'cool' like clubbing? (no thanks) Maybe I'm just too sensitive as usual.

Grade 12: The supposed 'best year of high school' has led to nothing. It has shown me how little friends I have. Perhaps the stress from school has made people more frustrated and thus, distant. Or perhaps they've found new friends, new groups, and have moved on.
So now I'm sitting here listening to 'Complainte de la Butte' from the Moulin Rouge cd and an aura of melancholy is settling down around me. The song... I can either picture a lonely, bohemian writer sitting at his typewriter staring out the window with glassy eyes, inhaling a cigar....or a couple dancing on the cobble stone streets next to a Parisian cafe. The intro of the song reminds me of a sepia toned image of a little girl donned in a little ruffled dress with black shiny shoes sitting at a baby grand piano, practicing her songs. She's by a half-open window and it's spring time in Paris... the notes waft out the window and disperse in the early morning breeze.

So I got a 64 on my essay outline for world issues. I managed to get an extra two marks and boosted it to a 68. When I first saw the mark, I didn't feel anything.. no resentment.. no disappointment.. not even despair. I guess after that English essay in which I got a 57 (yes finally everyone knows the mark.. I don't care anymore) I've learned to accept failures. But I give up on world issues. No matter how hard I try, I can't do well in that class because I talked to her today about the model outline she gave us.. it was faulty and she told me it a 'far from perfect outline'... so why did you give it to us to look at if it was so bad? She supposedly had told us the intro was supposed to be a page long and everything and she told us REPEATEDLY. Well I guess some of us are just deaf. I seriously don't remember her saying that.
Sometimes when you undertake a difficult topic.. I'm doing foreign aid and the corruption behind organizations... you just get a bad mark no matter how hard you try. It's hard to find corrupted NGOs... It's so easy for someone like April to do water... privatization of water... destruction of water... She will do so well. But for mine.. it's so sketchy because the organizations try to cover up their mistakes and there are barely any stats on them. Whatever. I just give up on world issues. I'd love to say that I believe that grades do not depict how smart you are but this is not how the system works. We're getting our world issues test back tomorrow. Whoohoo I can't wait to see my crappy mark.
Today at fifth, Rachel, Sarah, Lemuel and I were talking.. and Sarah and Lemuel were telling me about how these two guys in their discrete class (names shall remain unknown) were always talking about how to get girls and how to play hard to get and blah blah... one of the guys has a ton of Maxim girl pictures on his laptop.
This upsets me. My respect for this guy has just gone from HERE to here *gestures to the floor*. I don't understand how the male mind works but Maxim pictures are so off the 'normal, average girl'.... I find it quite derogatory to place a woman with a huge bust and a J-Lo bottom, posing in all sorts of suggestive positions. Maxim pictures make women look like a commodity and treat them with utterly no respect at all. Grow up. Just when I thought boys had matured, I've thought differently now. Today has changed my mind. I really think guys are stupid. It just angers me to see guys looking at near-porn images and fantasizing over them. It's utterly crude and degrading. I've lost all respect for the male population. Sorry I know it's a generalization but today just really ticked me off.

Wow it's been a long time since I actually had some free time on my hands.. Went to the Clothing Show today with good old Tanya.... and guess what I bought?!?!?

A pin.

Yup and that's it. Actually last time I went with Rob and I bought these earrings and after the second time I wore it, it broke because there was a dent in the steel wire. Have you ever heard of that saying "you are only as strong as your weakest link". That is so true. My violin teacher told me that when I was playing my solos and such hence improvements on the weak parks are essential to build them up and to become a stronger player. Anyway back on track.. I emailed the lady in October about the broken earring and she emailed me back just a couple of weeks ago. HAHa... she said she had internet problems. Anyway, so she offered to give me a pair for free so I went to the show today to tell her it was me and I got it for free.. yay..
The pin is just a fabric pin with rhinestones on it. It was just nice.. Really for no reason though.

This Eco Action poster is taking me ages because I have to research and write stuff and figure out how to attract people's attention. Actually it's quite hard to get people to read your stuff especially when they associate environmentalism with saving the planet and growing trees when it can actually be very fun and creative. So I'm injecting some 'culture' into the whole board with pictures of eco-cars and eco-clothing and eco-websites and eco-pens... www.treehugger.com is the best site ever.

How nice of Jon:
Congratz to my friend Ham who is going to New York and got a massive scholarship to Pratt lol =p I'll miss calling her a loser at lunch everyday. I dunno, the word loser seems to have stuck in my head. Haha it's probably cuz I'm such a loser. I am, I have no life.

So I guess Ham, Samsam, Green Eggs and Ham, Samantha, Sammy, Sammers, Samwitch the sandwich, samster the hamster, Sam..... what a lovely collection of names I have!

Ah, Bridget Jones.
Yes like many other girls out there, I am a self-proclaimed 'fan' of Bridget Jones. Since I was so incredibly bored, I decided to take a shower, treat myself to a chocolate Drumstick and snuggle under the blanket to watch my 'when-I-am-lonely-and-feeling-out-of-it movie'. Ever since that January 1 2003, it's always been my anti-depressant therapy.
I think we can all relate to her in some way (apart from the drinking and the smoking and the odd mother). I am horrible at public speaking (except for seminars) and can be quite cynical when it comes to guys (come to think of it, I'm quite blunt). But my favourite part in the entire movie is when she makes her blue soup dinner with Mr. Darcy and a whole load of other gunk and she invites her friends over for her birthday. And when they made a toast to Bridget they said, "To Bridget who we love just as she is".
I just really like that part out of the whole movie... I really love how her friends are always there for her to give advice or when she just needed to talk about the idiotical Daniel Cleaver.
Oh well, it just makes me smile.. that line because it's about the acceptance of one despite differences in dress, appearance, beliefs, morals, interests...
I think I am who I am because I've realized that many of the people who surround me are all so logical and into the math/science/ecology stuff so I try to become more of the artsy, almost 'ditzy' prototype.. which is not really good because now I don't know what people think of me. Fine, I do love shopping but I am not like Becky.
Today I sat alone at lunch. Initially she was sitting next to me, and then decided to move to another table where it was all guys. And I felt slightly hurt because I've realized how many of the crew have this preference to sit with males over their girl friends. And I hate it. Well I got called to sit over there later... no wait.. I was told to sit in the next table because the table was already full of guys. Well they were so incredibly loud, I decided to just leave the library because I couldn't concentrate.
Which is now why i want to leave high school. Many people say they don't think the crew has split up. I think it has. Just look at it. Look who is going together. Look who is not sitting at our table.
I hate how people are so Machiavellian (well I am too). Machiavelli believed that humans were evil and that we would exploit each other in the name of self- interest (yes I learned this all in politics.. it's really interesting.. I've realized how corrupt the United States is.. did you know they made this law that allows them to invade any country?!). Yes so he msgs me last night "Oh sam can you go to the library tomorrow... I don't have any notes.. can I study from yours.. can you send me your notes like you did last time'. I told him 'you only msg me right before a test'. He answered 'yes I know, I feel really bad'. I was thinking, no you darn aren't. You just want to use me to get ahead. It's true. You ask people for their study notes to improve and to get high marks.. or at least higher than your peers. I've realized that your mark alone doesn't matter. An 80% alone is good. It's only when you compare it with others, those who get 90%, does a 90% look more satisfying and an 80% looks like a failure.
And then he laughs at me today for studying from MY notes from our previous test and gets a higher mark than me. And don't say it's because he's joking. I'm so sick of these so-called jokes. Especially when it's on marks. He said "oh look, sam was studying so hard but I studied for only a little and got higher than her." Thanks a lot. You can make your own notes. okay I know guys make jokes and expect girls to be not as sensitive. But there's a fine line between jokes and seriously offending someone. I know I'm more sensitive than the average girl (then again I wouldn't start sticking my finger down my throat if you told me I was fat) but there is only so much I can tolerate despite how hard I try to not be as sensitive. But my sensitivity helps me.. it helps me see the world in a better light. It helps me to appreciate the things many people wouldn't. I love examining the texture of a flower.. that frosty translucent shimmer. I love gazing at the sheets of grass in the morning light as it shines in all its vibrancy, sparkling dew that winks in the sun. Glisten, glitter and fade away...
Isn't that like a lot of our lives? We glisten, quickly sparkle and then fade away.. we work to become big, get our moment of fame, and then quietly die off.

To You,
You've just dampened my birthday by leaving for your Vermont trip.... everything that happened today seems to dull and already fade away. I'm going to miss you a lot while you're gone and I hope you have internet access so I can talk to you at night. At least I'll have those day letters to read. I love you so much and I appreciate all the 'thought' you put into my birthday. Perhaps it didn't turn out how you wanted it to be (like last year's or something) but it was good. The sun shone today and it made me happy. I just have a test tomorrow and I'm really worried about it and I wish you'd be here to hear me go crazy. So May 12, 2005 is about to close. It's interesting how acquaintances would remember my birthday and some friends didn't which struck quite odd. That Sarah Moorhouse was the second person (after you) to say happy birthday to me. Both Sarahs and Julia forgot. But I don't expect much because I myself forget all the time.. I always remember the day before and forget on the day of. I appreciate the fact that Steph set aside some time to hang out with us even though her scrapbook isn't done and that meant a lot to me. But anyways, I'll try to find the cd... I really hope it turns up somewhere! I hope I have a good weekend and will lessen my 'missing' of you. It's been a week since we went to Yorkdale eh? And almost that sunday.. that was so much fun. I loved every minute of it (except we had to wait for so freaking long!). anyway I hope you have a wonderful trip and don't kill yourself please! I love you!
-Sam

It's almost my birthday. I've always seen May 12 as something 'wow' because for me, it marks another year and you don't get to hear 'May 12' quite often. And I always keep repeating to myself, "you're almost __ (18) but you will never again be __ (17)"
I just wish it wasn't tomorrow.. I wish it was another day because I'm just sitting here crying. Maybe my hormones are out of whack. But I wish I didn't have to mark my 18th birthday feeling so crummy and out of it.
I dont feel like studying at all. I studied a little bit and I really don't feel motivated at all.
Half an hour to go.
Why is world issues so stupid. Why do I have to learn what kwashiorkor is (lac of protein). Or Keratomalacia (lack of Vitamin A). Those are the things I am having problems with because I cant remember them. That's food and nutrition. Not world issues.
I feel so crummy. And I can't find a photo cd that I had.. and I already deleted all the files from my camera so they're gone for good (unless I find the cd)
I feel so out of it and tomorrow I'll have to pay by sitting at home studying. Whoohoo. But at least I have Saturday when I'll get to go with Tanya to the Clothing Show and Sunday I have my party with all my cheery AY friends... picnic.. I hope the weather is nice.
Please God, if anything, just make it a sunny day tomorrow. Sunny days make me happy. And a beautiful sunset would be awesome.

I was speaking to a seamstress yesterday and she asked me if I was taking design after seeing some of my sketches. I answered no but I liked to do it for fun. I can't go into fashion because I don't know how to sew well (after being traumatized as a little kid). She told me that all the high end fashion designers only know the basics because if you knew how to sew all the intricate stuff... you'd know how time consuming and labourious it would be and it would probably handicap and shortchange your creativity as a designer because all you're thinking is "Oh I should do this because it would take too much work".
So now I'm thinking: should I go into fashion? I know behind all those glamorous magazine spreads is a lot of hard work. Designers make only two collections a year which means that your clothes either make or break with the consumers.. plus with such high prices, there are only a small number of elitists who would be able to afford them. And also there are so many designers out there that's it's very hard to be on top and stay on top. What I don't like about the industry is that all the clothes are centered around the future trends. You have to take trend analysis and predict what would be the next 'It' thing for the following season... I mean how dull is that... yes everyone has their own interpretation of a leather jacket but if it all comes down to making money.. where's the satisfaction in that? I don't know... And I'd imagine there would be a lot of catty and obnoxious people out there.... so that's what's putting me off... I think I'd rather be a photographer or something than a designer.. iono..
I was reading in this magazine today about the hazards of tanning beds and I just think girls are retarded... they say "yeah I know how bad it can be for my skin but I'm only in there for 20 minutes plus I am young! I can take it. And I look so much more sophisticated with a glow. It's like a teenager's rite of passage". And I'm just thinking "you are such total idiots.. I'd laugh at you five years from now when you've contracted melanoma: the deadliest skin cancer". By the age of 18, your skin would have taken 80% of the total damage in your lifetime. I mean is it really worth that transient orange 'glow'. Is it worth the underlayer of wrinkles, the sunspots, the cancer and all the other side effects? I seriously think they're stupid. I'd rather tan under the sun where I'd get warnings of when my skin is burning so I know when to find shade than lying in some bed thinking that my skin is coping just fine. Oh the things we do to feed our vanity.

Sometimes the smallest things can make you smile.
Once I was trying to turn right at a red light but a van was blocking me from inching forward. He suddenly put his car on reverse and drove back, then forward on an angle and the back again and then straightened his car just so I could squeeze in.. except the light turned green by then. It was a nice gesture anyway.

Today Andrew gave me a gift certificate, a card and a bookmark for my birthday which I did not expect. Actually I don't think I would have saw the grey envelope if Karen had not shifted the two books apart (exactly why did you put it inbetween the books) and I initially thought it was a piece of cardboard wedged inbetween which struck odd to me. Lol. That was until I saw the word 'SAM' printed on the front. I totally did not expect a card and not to mention a $30 gift certificate AND a lotr bookmark :P. Yay.. now I have Arwen and Legolas and Gandalf! lol... and now I have a new ring to replace my worn old one. :P
I don't think what made me smile was that extra $30 I could spend or the bookmark to add to my quickly multiplying LOTR bookmark collection(!).. I think it was just the thought of making my 18th birthday more special by giving me the card and everything, even though I didn't expect anything. I truly do believe that the thought it what counts.

Ahem today was fun... though my lips are sealed. ;) We'll wow them.. well you will with my artistic skills.. hahaha..

Prom is pissing the crap out of me.

I bought shoes from Aldo for prom. Gold chinese embroidered ballet flats (so I can laugh at all those limping girls who are still shorter than me even in three inch heels). I like them cuz I can wear them any day rather than just one night.

The average girl spends $250 on a dress.

The average girl spends $800 on prom.

Sam spent approximately $450 on her dress (not including the gas money to drive to Guelph)

She is not going to spend $800 on prom(hopefully).

She is not going in a dumb limo instead going in black van and use her imagination and pretend it's a limo.

She has no idea how to do makeup and hair and does not trust herself with her own head. Must find someone to do it for a reasonable price.

She is not going to a chinese hairstylist or makeup artist. Period.

She's too lazy to book any appointments and unfortunately MAC is supposedly all booked.

No corsages. They cut off circulation from arm and hand and she doesn't appreciate watching a flower wither unless it's in hair.

She wants earrings so she can wear them again but all the earrings she wants tend to come from Holt Renfrew or Gypsy (artisan-crafted pieces).

She has no idea what purse to bring. She wants to paint on a clutch she got at Winners with another Klimt painting in gold.

She is not going to any retarded after parties where people just get drunk and overhung. After-parties are for teenagers.

She thinks that 17-18 year olds are incredibly immature.

She wants the white Coach bag that disappeared the third time she passed by the store.

She wants to know why they aren't carrying the fruit coin purses.

She wants to know why gr 12 friendships have become so retarded.

I got a haircut today. I like that feeling once you're done.. that light airy freshess.. that clean clean feeling... It's delicious.
Yay I love my beautiful $4.5 ea. markers that I got at Currys today! They're so yummy. $41.3 on markers today. :D And beautiful Faber Castel indian ink pens..... drool... those are my all time favourites.. they don't bleed on paper and I love that shade of black.. it's not bluish but black.
Mmm... I had mango juice and strawberry & ice cream crepe today for snack at the food court.. yum yum...
It annoys me to see that girls say 'I NEED TO SLIM DOWN' when they clearly don't.. then again, I used to do that. I used to want to look like a model but now I just don't really care cuz even if I did have the body, I can't change the face. And I love eating too much.. I realized that I eat like every 3-4 hours. That's really sad. I figured that if I get clothes that fit me, I don't need to worry about weight because you can always manipulate the eye simply using lines, colours and shapes. Then again I really have to start exercising again for health reasons... I'm always at the computer, sitting... My legs feel crumpled and squished and i get tired easily. :(

This was a really mindless, pointless entry but I guess I need these to balance out my other entries.

14Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 1 Timothy

Okay enough said about that. I remember memorizing that verse and it came up to mind today

$36,000

I love the Dior site. The graphic design is really cool.

www.dior.com

I've just spent twenty minutes on that site pressing the 'print screen' hoping to capture some of the flowery images. I really like the integration of the foliage and the logo. It's really neat. And colourful.

I'm almost 18.... YAY I CAN SIGN MYSELF OUT! lol. That's the best part of it now since I can't really vote or anything unless they have the summer election in which I will probably be in HK.

Yay, Mrs McAdam made the t shirts for us today... they look pretty good.. I'd still like to make some more designs (cough hence the dior inspiration.. I love fashion.. I have seem to found a natural skill in drawing emaciated fashion figures).
I've realized those who have supported my artistic career and those who really haven't. My parents for one have been there for me all the way.. they don't care (well okay kind of) how much tuition money they have to pay as long as I get a good education and at a school I want to be at. They don't mind if I go into interior design or fashion although the competition is very tough.
Who'd pay $10 for a t shirt? You spend $20 on an American Eagle t shirt.. oh you know.. that brown one with blue, pink and white lettering that says..hm... American Eagle. If I was in the fashion business and printing my name in different ways 'Samantha Wong', 'S.W.', 'SEW' or 'Sam' and people were buying it, I'd get a kick out of it... They're promoting my name by buying my stuff and I don't even have to do a single thing but draw a few designs... I mean it really pisses me off but at the same time I'm really like one of those people who get suckered into purchasing things purely because of the logo. Free advertising... waitaminute... you pay to advertise! But of course, I am one of those logo consumers and things just seem more appealing with a fancy logo on it... as long as everyone knows the brand you know cuz if no one knows the brand what's the point in buying it? You gotta show off your status you know.. I mean we're willing to pay for a Jacob Connexion t shirt for $14.30 but we can't pay for a darned eco t shirt for $10.... $10 is not expensive at all... fine fine.. you can get $8 at Fairweather, oh and Jacob Connexion when they are on sale!.... but not Guess nor Buffalo Jeans nor Aritzia... oo.. let's stamp a TNA logo on this no-name hoodie... oh and since there is a TNA logo on it, let's charge them $70 for it! Although the initial cost to make it was probably $5 considering they mass produce these things and just get some child to stitch it up for them.
We're willing to pay for t shirts that have guys with a cluster of girlfriends.. oh you know those stick figures that say "one girlfriend:good, two girlfriends:better, three girlfriends:best!" or like the AE t shirt "what goes on in spring break stays in spring break" or just a plain AE t shirt that says "FREE" plastered over the chest area. Oh and there are those beer ones. I'm glad we make such stupendous fashion statements out there. I'm glad we all like to walk around like advertisements out there. Perfect.
$3 is not a lot of money for a stamp on a shirt. I might not be in DECA or doing whatever business program or going into Shulich but I think I have the common sense to think that people in our school can afford $3. Plus I'll take business when I get to university. But seriously, you don't need a business person to tell you that $3 is not a lot of money. So what is.. anyone wanna tell me? Anyone wanna calculate the risk? The possible profit? Blah blah blah blah?
I've noticed a difference between the comments people gave me when I had my Coach purse versus my painted Klimt one of Judith and Holofernes. For the Coach:
"Is that Coach?"
"How much did it cost you?"
"Is it real?"
"Wow you have a Coach bag!"

And the painted one:
"You painted that?!!?"
"Wow you should really sell these!"
"You should start a business and paint people's bags"
"Can you paint me one?"
"Paint a bag for me for my birthday"
"Wow that's amazing"
"You should have used that for your portfolio"
"Your bag was worth $100 but now it's worth a lot more!"

So for my painted one I was actually promoting my own artistic ability as opposed to CCCCCCCC (the coach logo). I think I painted it too well and no one knew it was painted and they thought I bought it. :( Plus it feels good to have a purse no one else has (and I mean no one except a few months later I saw a few Klimt bags at Browns and I was thinking that they copied me.. :P.. they sold their bags for $250. at mendocino they had a klimt window display theme and me and the Arts York people were in awe.. at least I was.. hahaha.. I was like "omg they copied Klimt! I wanna take a picture of it!"). Alas I am growing tired of looking at that bag.. maybe I should finish the other side that I started. :P

Okay back to work.. seminar and then I'm free.. I have a test on my birthday though.. This whole entry was a total rant. It wasn't very coherent.
