"Mere humans don't have what it takes;when they die, their projects die with them.Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in GOD and know real blessing!GOD made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it.He always does what he says--"Psalm 146:4-6
"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." -Dale Carnegie
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." -Deuteronomy 31:8
It all too easy for me to say "Hey it's okay to fail. Just keep trying your best," because I understand how much work you must have to go through every day (what was it.... discrete, chem and.. crap. something yucky for all I know.. I don't understand you left brainers... Art is therapeutic, a way of expressing one self. It is a way to vent. We're not left contorted in prisons of molecular biology or theories in physics. We are free to experiment with different mediums till we are satisfied with one. okay.. I'm going off.. sorry. ;)). When you stood there today with tears in your eyes, I felt a sense of helplessness because what can I do or say to comfort you? I cannot relieve you from your burdens and kind words seem to ricochet on walls into nothing..
I know you feel frustrated, trying and in your efforts, to get what you want, but falling out of reach (high marks or whatever). And I think besides the quotes above this one really really helped me:
"Icy chills round your heart. A heart that's made of stone. It seems like life is out to get you, to destroy what you want. I know that, that you blame me for all that you go through. It could be, so different if you would just let it go. You're all alone, running out of ways to hold on to hope and it always slips away. You're all alone but you don't have to pretend to cope. There is a brighter way...If you would change your perspective, you'd see that it is true. Life is not always what you want. Sometimes it's hard to bear. I'd be with you, and help you in all that you go through. I love you, let Me change your heart by coming in"
Yeah this came from a song from Kutless called "All Alone" and it has really helped me when I've been through my own little frustrations and whatnots. :) Running away from your problems, or shall we say 'jumping' from them would be only a temporary solution.
A certain teacher (whom you deem as being 'racist' lol.), once told us failing in something does not mean you're a failure in life. What you get in discrete: 20, 40, 60, 90... Does not depict who you are as a person. You are not the 48 you got in physics. If our worth was equated to how well we did in school....... Well I guess a ton of Chinese people would be priceless *cough* and for those who don't do well.... sorry, you're losers in life. I mean how sad would that be? Your entire self worth compacted into a two digit number. Marks are not everything. Your talents may lie elsewhere and not in physics, or science or math. You could have immense compassion, kindness, understanding for others... those are talents too. Society just does not glorify those things. All it cares about is how far you climb on the corporate ladder and how much money you make. After all they say the guy with the most toys wins in the end. But really, misers die miserable.
Achievements do not define a person. Who you become out of your failures is more important.
In the scheme of life, ten years from now, you won't remember what you got on that chem quiz... you won't remember you got that super 90% on that assignment. You'll get to where you want to be. I'm sure of it.
I am all for crying. :) Don't get me wrong, I think it's best to relieve yourself through your emotions. I mean you'll live longer because of it. Cry all you want then get back up. Remember? Dare you to move??? "dare you to move... dare you to move.. dare you to lift yourself, to lift yourself up off the floor...."
Lastly, no one looks down upon you because you're not getting the grades you want. You are not anything less after failing. Look around you.... you have your lovely Raps crew to help you up, your loving family..... and BESIDES!!! We have a game this Wednesday! Oh yeah! HAHA! You gotta look forward to that! Imagine, Yao Ming, Vince, T Mac (finally I get to see him in action)... Bosh... who else? OH YEAH! Your guy.. whatshisface... Rafer Alston? ;). No worries, one look at their rippling muscles, all problems disappear. I am kidding. You know what I mean.
So! Get up, brush the dirt off your denim and keep walking. And just to end if off... I know you like lyrical quotes. Here's your beloved overplayed GC:
"Hold on...if you feel like letting go. Hold on...it gets better than you know"
And if that doesn't work, go listen to Hilary Duff. ;)
Oh darn.. I just remembered.. you don't read blogs! PFFT... Sam is pathetic. Cheers. Kudos to you kid. ;)
