Little to Say

Yay, praise God we got our apartment subletted for the summer. The bonus is that one of the tenants is my cousin and the other a friend from church who took responsibility and understood it was important to not leave me hanging and cut us a deal. I am relieved.
And I cannot wait to go home because Angie and I are combining our birthdays together. :D But cannot daydream or plan until I get more homework done. :(


Tribute to John Galliano's work at Christian Dior. I wish I had models and clothes and sets to work with

So the newest Vogue came out focusing on this whole controversial issue on whether or not to set a standard BMI for all models to follow by- if one girl is underweight, she cannot be hired. I haven't read the magazine yet but it appears that they have some pretty lame articles in there including seven women who obsess over particular 'flaws' YET in the same issue you can find splashed on the front "EMBRACE YOUR SHAPE" and "Curvy and Cool". Leave it to Vogue to put really weird and somewhat trivial articles together and pass them off as something worth publishing.
And the past few months, all websites and magazines have been talking about this standard- funnily enough, all designers say the women look healthy and normal. I was reading one particular magazine which quoted four designers who strongly believed that people were just overreacting. Listen to what Karl Lagerfeld, designer for Chanel, said,
"The idea of ‘regulation' is revolting, but so much today. Models are about looks, not about weight. For me, it's not even an issue; it's part of this new politically correct fascism."
Diane Von Furstenberg, another designer who invented the wrap dress, said,
"Let's not become fanatics."
I'm not sure whether to laugh or sigh in disbelief.
Anyway beyond that, the fashion photography site had a few stunning pictures that I will leave you with because I have nothing to say today. The first I like for its ephemeral, haunted quality and the second for its sharpness and saturated colour.
