Trickle Goes the Trends.

I was surfing around a few sites and was planning on going to Eatons with Lois next week (haven't gone since Christmas unless you count the time I went at 11pm to get to the subway) to see what has changed since I last went. Trying to be more open minded of some overpriced mass produced clothing companies who market their clothes by putting half nude guys and girls on their ads all snug and happy together *cough*Hollister*cough*, I went on their site to see what was up there and what design ideas they had for the coming season. And if you ever saw 'The Devil Wears Prada' there was a scene where Andy was snickering over their debate on which turquoise belt to use because they practically looked the same. Meryl Streep then starts blabbering about how her cerulean sweater came from Oscar de la Renta's spring collection of dresses two years ago that were based on the colour and how many designers followed en suite and soon trickled down to the 'lowly' stores for the general public where this sweater (which took the idea of using the colour) somehow landed in her closet. So somehow every piece you wear was designed to fit into a certain trend whether you care or not and from high end to low end.
Yeah and in the same way I just saw this Hollister tote bag and immediately thought of Louis Vuitton's 2006 canvas bag for their spring/summer collection. Of course they are not the same but they both are canvas with a big rectangle in the middle with the arched writing and something in the centre with two handles (with stripes mind you). Yeah I know, pointless post but I thought it was interesting. Trickle trickle.
